The X3100 works natively (with a little help) up until 10.7.5 because it only had 32-bit drivers. Mountain Lion and up are 64-bit-only OS. It did have 64-bit support at one point but Apple dropped it, I think, in 10.6.2. From what I've read, the 64-bit drivers are buggy. They can be used on later versions of OS X with varying results.
